As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling
you have received. (Ephesians 4:1)

You are known.

Yep. Fully. Completely. Every part of you. There is absolutely nothing hidden.

Now that may feel extremely vulnerable and scary to you, but do not worry. It is not by me. It’s by your Father in Heaven.

God knows you.

And He gets you like no one else does. He loves your quirkiness. That little snort you do when you giggle. He doesn’t think you are socially awkward, even if you may be. He thinks your not so full top-knot is on point. He gets a kick out of the way you believe in Him, seek Him, pray to Him, and worship Him…even if you are completely out of tune.

He knows you.

Psalm 139 says,
You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.

He knows all of you, every essence of your being.

Which means wrapped up in our identity is our calling, our purpose, our reason for existence here on earth.

Which means we can stop…

…being addicted to approval
….comparing ourselves to everyone else
….living like we have nothing to do

And we can start living out the calling that He has for us. What exactly is that? Well, the Bible says we are a children and co-heirs (Romans 8:17),  chosen people, a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9), ministers of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18), imitators of God (Ephesians 5:1, NLT), becoming a holy temple for the Lord (Ephesians 2:21), just to name a few. All of which tells us that we can respond out of who we are in Christ so we can do what He has called to do which in turn brings glory to His name.
